Know the heaviest load—including pallet, attachment and product. Choose capacity with a reasonable safety margin and never exceed the data plate.

Capacity, surface, lift height and aisle space all matter when selecting equipment.
Check the load center
A longer or uneven load can reduce usable capacity. Confirm load dimensions, center of gravity and any attachment before reserving.
Measure lift height
Measure the highest rack beam and verify mast clearance under doors, sprinklers and ceilings.
Know the surface
Smooth warehouse floors and rough outdoor yards require different tire and forklift configurations.
Measure aisle and access
Include turning radius, door width, trailer access, ramps, dock plates and overhead restrictions.
Scissor-lift selection
Confirm whether the stated height is platform height or working height. Consider platform capacity, floor loading, indoor/outdoor rating and doorway clearance.
Safety comes first
Only trained and authorized operators should use powered industrial trucks or aerial work platforms. Follow the manufacturer manual, jobsite rules and equipment data plate.
